Meet The Siècles at Berlioz festival, one of the most important summer classical music festival. This year, the topic is “Berlioz in London at the time of Universal Exhibitions”. From august 18th to september 3rd at La Côte-Saint-André (Isère, France).

We are in 1851 and Berlioz, as several composers and musicians, is really attracted by the british capital. Following the Mendelssohn’s steps, he goes accross the channel to find recognition and success that he doesn’t have in France. A mondial and historic event disrupt his stay : the first Universal Exhibition. Berlioz discovers some strange instruments, extraordinary sounds and fascinating musics. This visit mark deeply his composer’s work.

The Berlioz festival dedicates his 2017 edition to this london period. A lot of concerts and meetings often with free entrance are organized.
